what do you recommend doing in honolulu?

im going there for spring break with my family
i told my dad about hanauma bay snorkling, my siblings and i wanna try Surf Lessons, we’re gonna go to pearl harbor, and we might do some dinner cruise thing

any other suggestions?
beaches to go to, shopping?, recommended restaurants?, where is a good luau?

To piggy-back on the previous response, Ala Moana mall is a fun place to shop, even if it is expensive. Everything is outside, even when you’re “inside” the mall. They have shows in the center court sometimes…And just the fact that you’ll find stores like Tiffany’s and Gucci and Louis Vuitton right next to the GAP and Foot Locker….lol…It’s an interesting sight.

Tons of free and inexpensive stuff to do around the island. Diamond Head is a great place for pictures and a good view around the island, and it’s an inexpensive couple of hours.

Pearl Harbor – we didn’t go all that early in the morning, and although it was busy and we had to wait a little while for the trip out to the Arizona, there is enough stuff around it to occupy your time while you wait. There’s some shopping there, and the plaques all around you with historical info and the names of people who were lost in the attack. There’s the submarine tour, and the USS Missouri. So it’s worth going, and don’t worry too much about getting there bright and early. You’ll see it all, if you just relax and do everything on “island time.” :)

The one question the previous responder didn’t answer was about luau’s – you can’t be a tourist in Hawaii without going to a luau! We went to Germaine’s Luau. We have heard mixed reviews, but we had a great time. The food was ok (there might be better out there but I didn’t complain – and oh my, the fresh pineapple is something to die for that you just don’t get here on the mainland!), but the show gave us an awesome evening.

We also drove our rental to the NW corner of the island where the road ends (just take the main highway – I think it’s H1 – out of Honolulu till you can’t go any further). There’s a place to park the car and then a walking trail along the coast where we got some AMAZING photos. And all of this for free.

It’s a great place to vacation, and you won’t want to leave when it’s over. Enjoy! Aloha!

Have you ever been watching a surf DVD and you see some pro bust off the lip, land on some awkward angle with his body bent backwards into the white-wash and yet some how he recovers and manages to stay on his board? Don’t you wish you could do that? That sort of recovery requires an insanely high level of core strength and balance. Lucky for us, you can actually train to increase your balance and in turn improve your Surfing.....Click here to read the rest of the article:Real Surf!
