Redesigning Your Child’s Bedroom Using Surf Decor

If your kid is sick of his or her room looking like everyone else’s with the same old cartoon characters or superheroes, then it is time for a whole new look. Add some fun to their life by turning their room into something their friends will envy with beach and surfboard home decor.

You will of course need a surfboard or two; you can’t have a surfing theme without one. You can find used ones that are cheap at local surf shops or flea markets. Make a shelf on the wall with one with a few brackets or turn an old desk into something fun by replacing the top with a surfboard. If your child is a surfer, hang their board on the wall for when they are not using it and in the off season it decorates the room.

Think about the walls of the room, if you are good with a paint brush you can create a wave crashing effect. Paint the walls a nice blue and then using a brush and white paint, take big sweeping strokes to create a wave effect, they could even overlap onto the ceiling. If you are not handy with a brush, rag painting is something that can create a similar affect. Offset the wells with light airy white curtains with straight lines, nothing frilly or too fancy.

Beach towels are not only the perfect addition to hang on the wall or drape somewhere, but you can use one to upholster a chair in the room. No beach theme is complete without at least one beach towel in the mix.

For a great old school Surfing Decor vibe, look for some signs to hang on the walls, maybe even the door. Online or in the local surf shops you’ll be able to find a lot of vintage beach signs if your child prefers those to the newer styles today. If your kid loves posters, a poster or two of a surfing scene or the beach will dress up the walls too.

Add a bit of fun with novelty items. You can find a variety of different surf and beach related items that would match the room perfectly. A surfboard print light switch plate, a surfboard shaped wall clock and a few surfboard wall hooks for their coats and hats are just a few of the very cool things out there to choose from.

And nothing pulls a room completely together like the right bedding. Today, bedding is all about design and you’ll find a variety of different choices when it comes to surfing and the beach. There will be flashy colorful ocean scenes to subtle and calming beach scenes to choose from.

About the Author

There are many different ways to add surf decor to a room to make it stunning and fun. And, after you are done, your kid will feel like it is summertime already and be ready to grab his board and head out to catch a wave. To get started, research online to find the newest beach decorating items.

new teen bedroom design. any suggestionss?

ok so im a girl, 14, about to be 15. i have a small bedroom at the moment that i absoultely hate. i got my parents to agree to let me move in the bonus room of my house. it is verryyy big. so i’ll have lots of room. i have a whole theme in my room im in now, but i dont want as much of a theme this time. i still kinda want a theme but not so much that i cant add like posters n pictures n that kinda stuff on my wall.

im really into rock music, playing gutair, surfing, the beach, and peace/hippie stuff. just random stuff like that. (im not exactually a really girly girl) lol.

but anywayzzz, i need help on deciding how 2 decorate it. likee what colors do u think the walls should be, what kinda bedding n furniture n just stuff like that.
just tell me what ya think! plzz helpp.

ohhh and if u have a website that shows some kool designs pleaseee tell me it or give me the link. i do alot better when i can actually see pictures of things.

play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the “painted” rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

http://www.sherwin.com/visualizer/

Since you like the beach, then I think it would be ultra cool to do a SandScape faux finish on the wall. It has the texture of sand. Under “explore colors,” click the cirlce that says “by collection” and then choose “faux finishes” from the drop-down menu. Then scroll over to the SandScapes. I love the color called “pumpkin spice” (# 7178).

You can also take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

http://www.roomvues.com/

You can get color suggestions & they’ll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.

And here’s heaps of cool funky retro bedding:

If there’s irony in the fact that the founding fathers of surf rock the Ventures hail from quarters not exactly renowned as bastions of sun-drenched wave-riding (Portland, Oregon, and Tacoma, Washington), it only stands to reason that their inspirations weren’t exactly baggy-clad and bushy-blond-coiffed, either (Les Paul, Chet Atkins, Duane Eddy).
About the Author

My Brothers “Surf Music”?

My brother is a surfer, so he listens to what he calls “surf music”. The only artists i know he listens to are Jack Johnson Nine Inch Nails and Switchfoot….. i really like his music, but dont know the titles of the songs or artists. So all in all, what are some good “surf artists”?

Surf music started in the late 50s, became hugely popular in the 1960s and saw a big revival in the 80s.
Surf music has blended with rockabilly, psychobilly, punk, garage, spaghetti western (euro trash), and tiki lounge (hawaiian) music over the years. It can have a really hard aggressive edge or it can be very relaxing.

Early pioneers are Dick Dale, Link Wray, and Duane Eddy.

Surf music seeks to emulate the raw power of the ocean. It does this with the use of staccato guitar riffs, power chords, and glissandos (rapid descending pitches). It also strives for the exotic, often using arabic, latin, and other “forgeign” melodies.

Beach music is totally different- like the beach boys and Frankie Valley- blah.

While surf music is declining again in the US, it is still very popular in Mexico, Japan, Europe, and basically the rest of the world. Recent (well, faily recent) U.S. surf bands might include the butthole surfers, the aqua velvets, the tikitones, the blue hawiians, the aquabats, los straightjackets, Southern Culture On the Skids (SCOTS). Surf bands tend to come and go rather quickly- but they usually leave behind good stuff. Some of the original surf bands from the sixties are still touring though.

Jack Johnson is not really surf but the mellow attitude makes him a good match to mix in with surf. Nine inch nails is really good too, but not really surf either.

Check out this excellent site for an overview of the surf genre and follow the links to other surf websites…

http://trustarvibrations.blogspot.com/

Dig back far enough in this site to sample one of the mexican or japanese compilations to get a tasty overview- you’ll probably be hooked right away. Might I suggest searching the site for these compilations:
Brian Wilson’s brilliance manifested itself in the euphoric, cheerfully square, sun-and-fun stuff heard here early on, before it got darker and more complicated. Endless Summer runs from the beginning of the Boys’ pinstriped career to 1965, right before the melancholy of Pet Sounds, but also includes the inescapable “Good Vibrations.” You can hear a few hints of adolescent sadness and fear–”Help …

Nineteen sixty-one’s “Let’s Go Trippin’” was the first real surf instrumental, although the pyrotechnic fretwork of later Dale records is largely absent.

im thinking of one of these phones
what are the audience of both phones?
pros and cons?
for a teen?

also i already have an ipod touch and ipod classic so im good with the music/video part

and hows the internet surfing on the curve?

Definitely the iPhone, plain and simple. The iPhone is so much more than a phone, and is superior to any phone currently out there. It’s fully touch screen for starters, a feature that still no other phone has. You can hack into the iPhone and install many, many more features and applications on it. And Apple comes out with updates for the iPhone that enable it to have smarter, better features, so it never goes out of style. They constantly come out with improvements that can be downloaded into your iPhone within minutes. You can’t do this with any other cell phone. Hope this helps…

While the iPhone is the undeniable king of smartphones, security flaws in the operating system create vulnerabilities hackers can exploit to steal email, contact and personal data. Surprisingly, smartphone users are seemingly unaware of data security issues with their cellular phones. According to a recent Trend Micro report, respondents (44%) feel surfing the internet on their smartphone is just as safe as surfing the web on their computer, despite the fact that most smartphones offer no internet surfing security. What can you do to protect your iPhone? Use these tips:

1. Wifi Hotspots Attract Hackers – those bent on maliciously collecting information from laptop and smartphone users know that wifi hotspots offering broadband internet access to anyone are great places to troll for the unprotected equipment. When surfing at your local hot spot, make sure you know whose network you are connecting to. Reference the name of the hotspot and ask yourself if the name makes sense with the location. For instance, all Starbucks have a hotspot named “att” that requires validation through the iPhone’s Safari internet browser. Connecting to any other wifi network increases your risk of data theft.

2. Wifi Hotspot Login Page – many wifi hotspots require you to accept terms of service and login to a web page on your internet browser. While checking a box to accept terms of service is rather innocuous, no other information is typically collected (such as name, address, credit card number, etc) so be wary of any login process requesting such information. Also (more applicable to laptops) if the login page seems to be taking an extraordinary amount of time to load or appears to be loading a large file to your laptop or smartphone immediately disconnect your wireless internet connection as malicious software may be downloading to your device.

3. Password Protect Your Data – most smartphones provide a feature to password protect your device and the data inside it. This is typically enabled in a settings panel on the phone and requires the owner to enter a password before gaining access to phone data and functionality. While this might be annoying it is a great way to protect your data from theft, especially if your phone is lost or is left unattended in public for an extended period of time.

4. Layered Protection – exercising caution when connecting with wifi hotspots and password protecting your data is a great start, but you can increase your data protection with additional layers of security such as the Trend Micro application Trend Smart Surfing freely available on the iPhone application store that blocks users from accidentally visiting a site that could exploit an iPhone vulnerability.

These simple steps will greatly increase data security on your smartphone device and better protect you from identity theft. Also be certain to regularly update your smartphone or iPhone to receive the most up-to-date security patches made available from hardware manufacturers.

Apps. on the latest Apple ipod?

Is it possible to load all the same apps. on-to a top end ipod as you can have on a iphone. ??
My daughter has an iphone loaded with many apps and I would like a similar device to hold photos, clips, books, games etc etc etc, but my finances will not run to an iphone, but I can afford a top end ipod. Also is it possible to “hook” it up to my wireless router/sender to surf the web in my house, I have a wireless 10″ notebook. ?? Excuse my ignorance but I am of the “older” generation and not all that computer “savy”
Any help would be a great help Thanks.
P.S. I don’t like asking in shops etc in case I appear a “dork”

Yes, if you have a Wireless Router (if you use a Blue Wire called “Ethernet” then you do not have Wi-Fi) you can connect to the Internet.

You can get and load all the Apps and Books if you use the same Email/iTunes Account as your daughter, along with Syncing with her computer’s iTunes Library. Just plug-in your iPod Touch to her computer, then “Set Up from Backup” and then select one of your Daughter’s backups from her iPhone, and then after it finished Sync all your Apps / Books and everything and you iPod Touch will be completly identical to your Daughters!!!

Hope this helps

EDIT: If you daughter get’s Wi-Fi in your house, you can get Wi-Fi with your iPod Touch

Quirky Interiors

At last… breathe a sigh of relief …home interiors are starting to move away from the bland and homogeneous minimalism that has dominated the interiors magazines for years. Instead we are seeing a move towards a more individualistic approach that uses bespoke designs, hand-crafted items and best of all demonstrates a sense of humour. I am currently redecorating my living room and I plan to take full advantage of all this vibrancy by using reclaimed materials and furniture, quirky
wall decals
and wall murals and some wonderfully imaginative accessories. Firstly, the wall decor needs to be sorted out. I still love the light airy feel that was such a big part of the minimalist look so I have opted for off-white walls as a backdrop for everything else. To add some much needed character, I have sourced some wonderful
wall stickers
online. I’ve fallen for a pink stag’s head which will make a fantastic feature above the fireplace. I simply can’t resist an amazing wallpaper mural called Junglaland by Wall & Deco which features a huge pink orchid stretching across the wall with a damask background. I am going to put this on the wall opposite the fireplace. Secondly, the window treatments. This is one of the more difficult areas to get right but I was lucky enough to visit France this summer and find some amazing curtains in a shop called Madura. They have a morrocan design that is cut out of the fabric and can be used as panels on the wall as well as in front of the window. The sofa has been my one big luxury as I have been craving a bright-coloured patchwork pattern for ages and managed to find a company that re-upholster second-hand sofas in beautiful patchwork fabrics. My favourite accessories are some shelves that are disguised as books called SelfShelf. The book title is Ceci n’est pas un livre (‘this is not a book’) so this is postmodernism in action! I still need to source lighting but with all the amazing choices out there I’m having a whale of a time! The huge array of wall decals,
wallpaper murals
, furniture and unusual accessories available online is mind boggling but my advice is be daring, be bold and get surfing!

Collecting Hall of Fame Vintage Guitars

Over the past couple of years the vintage guitar market has taken a hit here and there but overall has proven to be a sound investment for most. The experts say that when inflation accelerates and the dollar shrinks collectibles prove to be a good place for your money.

You might be asking yourself whether a guitar can really be a good investment. After all, to the untrained eye, most guitars are the same. However, the right guitar can be worth a lot to a collector. Guitars that have been owned by celebrities, or which are rare or unusual, can command very high prices indeed. If you’re worried about getting a return on your money, don’t be. Vintage guitars have consistently performed with more stability than the stock market. There are a number of reasons that collecting vintage guitars is an excellent strategy.

For one, they’re more tangible than a stock or bond. They give you an attractive piece to display, and are fun to collect, too. Guitars also don’t lose value over time. In fact, it’s just the opposite – vintage guitars consistently gain value as they get older, as long as you take the time to keep them in good condition. They’re also usually superior instruments. If you’re a musician as well as an investor, you’ll appreciate the superior action and tone of a real vintage instrument. The most popular vintage guitar with collectors is probably the Gibson Les Paul.

Here is a small example: Let’s say in 1959 you had $100.00 if you were to bury the $100.00 in a coffee can in your back yard or put it in your bank account and let it sit there drawing a couple percent interest inflation would slowly take this $100.00 and if you were to pull it out 50 years later you would find that $100.00 would barely get you a nice dinner for two. However if you would have taken that same $100.00 and gone to your local pawn shop in 1959 and picked up a 1959 Gibson Les Paul guitar and placed it in the closet instead then you could pull it out of your closet today and it could be worth well over six figures.

People are starting to realize how much these instruments from the 50’s 60’s, and 70’s really mean to our culture.

There is a very limited supply and there still seems to be a high demand for these pieces of history which has proved to be a good choice for those who have invested in these instruments, such as the Gibson Les Pauls’ and Fender Telecasters and Stratocaster’s from the same era. (50’s, 60, and 70’s).

A good place to start collecting vintage guitars as an investment would be to focus your research on obtaining guitars from the list below. This list includes that have been inducted into Vintage Guitar Magazine’s Hall of Fame. There are, of course, other lists and other guitars worth investing in, but this is certainly a great place to begin. Two great sites to begin your search for these exquisite instrument are Bob’s Vintage Guitars at http://www.bestguitaronline.com and the Best Guitar Shop at http://www.best-guitar-shop.

In the coming weeks, I will be featuring each of the exquisite instruments in detail. This information will prove useful in your search for vintage guitars that will provide a good return on your investment.

Fender Stratocaster
Inducted in 1990
The VG Hall of Fame was started in 1990 and we had little doubt the Strat would be among the first instruments selected for inclusion by our readers. Three single-coils, a vibrato (usually), and that great contoured, offset-double-cutaway body. Some 50 years after its introduction, it is still one of the most popular designs.

Gibson Les Paul Standard (‘Burst)
Inducted in 1990
Also an easy first-year selection, LP Standard was introduced with a sunburst finish in 1958, and the ‘58 to’60 models are the most valuable vintage solidbody guitars. The Les Paul Standard is a classic no matter what finish it bears.

Martin D-28
Inducted in 1991
The first acoustic in the VG Hall, the D-28 launched Martin’s line of incredible big and loud dreadnoughts in 1931. The D-28 has inspired many guitarists and builders, and remains one of Martin’s most popular models.

Fender Telecaster
Inducted in 1991
Leo Fender’s timeless classic is about as simple as an electric guitar can be, but still has the magic to appeal to guitarists playing just about any style of music. Every guitar player has a Telecaster (or should). Along with the Strat and Les Paul, the Tele is among the most popular designs around.

Fender Precision Bass
Inducted in 1992
The first bass in the VG Hall, and why not, it only forever revolutionized how the bass was played. One of the most innovative ideas in modern music history.

Gibson ES-335
Inducted in 1992
Born during Gibson’s “golden era,” the semi-hollow body ES-335 wedded archtop looks with solidbody performance. Whether it has dot inlays or blocks, it remains one of the coolest designs in guitardom.

D’Angelico New Yorker
Inducted in 1993
George Gruhn said of it in the March 2000 issue of Vintage Guitar, “The New Yorker is significant due to its superb quality and aesthetic artistic appeal,” and is “one of the finest guitars in the history of the instrument.”

Gibson Super 400
Inducted in 1993
Introduced in 1934, with its 18″ body and deluxe features, the Super 400 was the largest and most expensive guitar in the Gibson line. Its influence was soon apparent in the designs of many of the great archtops built by others. Whether the earlier non-cutaway acoustic version or the later double-pickup cutaway, it remains a true work of art.

Gibson L-5
Inducted in 1994
Introduced in 1922 and with a design guided by the legendary Lloyd Loar, the L-5 was the first modern archtop guitar. Initially a non-cutaway acoustic, the L-5 went through many changes, ultimately becoming a single-cutaway with two humbuckers.

Fender Jazz Bass
Inducted in 1995
With its two specially designed pickups, offset waist, and slimmer, narrower neck, the Jazz Bass was intended to be the more tonally diverse, slicker-playing descendant of the Precision. The fact it was available in Fender custom colors (often with matching headstock) makes it all the more cool.

Gibson Flying V
Inducted in 1996
One of the most distinct guitar designs ever created, but it wasn’t a hit when it came out in 1958. Rock and rollers discovered it the late ’60s and the V still makes a unique statement today.

Gretsch 6120
Inducted in 1996
If you play rockabilly, you better have one of these! Introduced as the Chet Atkins Hollowbody in ‘54, the 6120 soon shed the “G” brand and western inlays of the early versions, but never lost the Western Orange finish or the cool twang.

Rickenbacker 360/12
Inducted in 1997
It was good enough for George Harrison and gave us the “jingle jangle” of Roger McGuinn. That’s more than enough for the 360/12 to be the only 12-string in the Vintage Guitar Hall of Fame.

Martin D-45
Inducted in 1998
Originally the fanciest of Martin’s innovative dreadnought line. If you had one of the 96 made in the 1930s and early ’40s, your net worth would be considerably higher than it is now.

Gibson ES-150
Inducted in 1999
Gibson’s first electric Spanish guitar was also the first good-quality electric to hit the market. Favored by Charlie Christian, it housed Gibson’s first pickup, which is still in high demand and considered a classic.

Fender Jazzmaster
Inducted in 2002
Designed and marketed by Leo to cut into Gibson’s jazz market, it supplanted the Strat at the top of Fender’s line in 1958. And though its sound kept it from catching on with jazzers, garage surf bands of the day ate it up. It is one of the most copied solidbody designs of all time.

Gibson SJ-200
Inducted in 2002
A landmark amongst acoustic flattops, the SJ-200 was designed for cowboy guitarist Ray Whitley, and any cowboy worth his salt played one. Its popularity carried over to other genres, and never faded. From its jumbo-sized, sunburst-finished body to its ultra-fancy pickguard, bridge, and headstock, it was considered the consummate flat-top. Just ask Emmylou!

The 1954-’56 Gibson Les Paul Custom
Inducted in 2003
Can you say “Black Beauty?” Though Gibson didn’t give it the name, Les Paul himself chose black as the secondary color for the guitar bearing his moniker. Gibson did, however, use it to experiment with a three-pickup configuration and to introduce its famed Alnico-magnet pickup.

PRS Custom
Inducted in 2004
The first production instrument from a company that has become the guitar’s preeminent modern success story.

Gretsch White Falcon
Inducted in 2004
Like many great guitars, it has evolved through several versions. But it has been a classic since day one, for both it sound and utterly unique aesthetic.

National Tri-Cone series
Inducted in 2005
Its warm, sustaining tone emanates from three aluminum “resonators” designed to help guitarists stand out in big-band or orchestra settings. But, soon after being introduced, Nationals were adopted by Hawiian and blues players. Today, the Tri-Cone produces what many consider the ultimate acoustic blues tone.

Gibson ES-5
Inducted in 2006
One of the first guitars built after Ted McCarty took charge of Gibson, it helped solidify the company’s position as the world’s preeminent electric archtop maker. Today, its late-’50s variant with three PAF humbuckers and Switchmaster tone control is one of the most collectible of its ilk.

Fender Jaguar
Inducted in 2006
Jumping on the speeding Fender bandwagon in 1962, it helped the company stay on top throughout the decade, with its fancy new vibrato tailpiece, sophisticated electronics, and (usually) a funky custom color. If you played instrumental rock at the time, you either had one of these or you were probably ignored!

Gibson J-45
Inducted in 2007
Martin’s “dreadnought” flat-tops were big and dominated the guitar market of the 1930s. By the early ’40s, Gibson knew it needed a big flat-top to compete, and he J-45 (“J” for Jumbo, “45″ indicating its price in dollars) was it. A 16″ round-shoulded flat-top, even in the tough times of its launch, it received a very warm welcome and has ever since remained one of – if not the – most popular Gibson guitars.

Gibson Les Paul Model (Goldtop)
Inducted in 2008
Les Paul tried for years to convince Gibson it needed a solidbody in its line. Finally, Ted McCarty brought a single-cut experiment guitar to Les for his approval. Though its origianl bridge/tailpiece was far from perfect, the instrument served as Gibson’s test bed through the ’50s. Eventually, it reached the pinnacle among guitars and today sits among the top collectibles.

Gibson SG Standard
Inducted in 2009
By 1960, declining sales of the Les Paul model had Gibson looking to revamp the guitar. So the company gave it a radically redesigned, much thinner (and lighter!) body intended to better compete with Fender’s Strat. But the things that made up its very heart and soul – especially its humbucking pickups – remained. Today, the early-’60s version is a true classic.

Surfers are raging in the water just like everyone else. There are punchouts on the beach. Rocks are thrown and tires punctured. It is outa control. Nat Young, himself the recepient of a pounding has gathered 12 chapters all from different authors, on localism in surfing from around the world. This book is about that problem!…

Looking for a new sport How about Snowboarding

Snowboarding has quickly become a popular winter sport with enthusiasts from countries all over the globe. The rush and exhilaration of sliding downhill is an experience of a lifetime. Ever wonder where it all began? Let’s take a quick look at the history of snowboarding.

There is speculation that the first snowboard was a version of a skateboard, flat on the bottom, with a rope to hold on to for control. There were no “traditional” bindings but you had a way of adhering your boots to the board. Talk about having to learn to use your balance to keep yourself steady! What a way to learn! During the late 70’s and throughout the 80’s, snowboarding really took off, causing the design to evolve to more of what we see today.

In looking at the history of snowboarding there were many concepts in finding the right design for a board that would give proper control and function in snow. In 1972, a company called Winterstick, pioneered by a surfer named Dimitrije Milovich, began to develop snowboards deriving from the basic concept of the surfboard. In the mid 70’s a couple of Welsh skateboarders developed a plywood deck, with a smooth polished bottom and boot bindings, which was shorter than snowboards used at the time. Although this concept allowed it to move quickly over snow, it offered little control to the rider.

The Pando Ski Lodge in Grand Rapids, Michigan hosted the first World Snurfing Championship in 1979 and was the beginning of taking snowboarding to a competitive level. Snurfing as it was originally called was a combination of surfing and snow. Competition evolved in 1982 to the first National Snowboard race held in Woodstock, Virginia and the first World Championship Half-Pipe Competition in Soda Springs, California, held in 1983. In 1985 it became recognized as an official sport in the first World Cup held in Australia. In 1994, the International Snowboard Association was founded and began to develop official rules for competition worldwide.

Snowboarding has gained fans worldwide via broadcasting of events such as Winter X-Games, the Olympics and the US open. Many of today’s resorts have special areas for snowboarders, with features like various snowboarding rails, half-pipes and jumps specifically designed for the pleasure of accomplished riders. Now that you know the history of snowboarding and how it all began, aren’t you tempted to get out there and experience it for yourself? What are you waiting for?
your computer with viruses. Apple’s popular program iTunes is
a legal and easy way to download music, but it costs 99 cents
per song. The lack of options leaves many music lovers
searching for something better.

These and other concerns were on the mind of music lover,
engineer and alum of the Forestry School at Syracuse University
Andrew Lombardo (brother of Phil Lombardo ‘05), when he began
researching ways to create a downloading website that would
benefit not just downloaders, but musicians and advertisers as
well. After several years of research and hard work, his final
product, Zaziggy.com, is available for public use.

Zaziggy.com is a different kind of music downloading website.
With his self-run company, Rockstar Technologies, and his
partner Shirley Ma (a patent attorney) Lombardo has created a
partnership between advertisers, downloaders and up-and-coming
artists. The artists range in genre from acoustic, acoustic rock,
country, emo, hip hop, metal, piano, piano acoustic, pop, rap,
rock, surf and surf acoustic, to appeal to all sorts of music
interests.

To sign up, you simply have to go to Zaziggy.com and fill out a
brief survey, whose purpose is to pair your interests up with
an advertiser. The survey, which is worlds more fun than the
average demographics survey, allows users to get their music for
free. Here’s how Zaziggy works: while downloading a song a user
is paired up with an advertisement for a product based on his or
her interests, which are determined based on the survey. This
allows companies to target their advertisements to their desired
demographic. Additionally, artists receive a royalty each time
someone downloads one of their songs and they are able to access
the demographics of the people who like their music.

According to the website, “the money made off of the sponsored
download is split 50/50 with the artists,” who maintain artistic
control because Rockstar Technologies does not buy the rights
to the songs. Because they make money off of the downloads,
this website makes it possible for musicians to benefit from
a music downloading website. And the downloads are perfectly
legal. The best part is that each week new artists will be
added to the website, so users can always anticipate something
new. This way, Zaziggy.com provides a way for savvy people to
discover new music without having to listen to the radio.

The website, which features clever graphics and just the right
amount of humor, is easy and fun to use. Zaziggy.com indicates
the top downloads in each genre, and recommends artists that
you may like. Different artists are featured at the top of
the page, along with a short biography.

If you are interested in music in any way, this website is
worth looking into. For more information, check out
rockstartechnologies.com/bands/. You can find out more fun
facts about Zaziggy.com, as well as enjoy some great animation.
Or, if you are an artist or an advertiser who is interested
in becoming a part of Zaziggy.com, this link has all the
information you need to get involved:
rockstartechnologies.com/help. Included on the page are ways
to help spread the word about this innovative new website.
Lombardo is always looking for more artists and advertisers
to become part of the project, as the partnership is
beneficial to everyone involved. Zaziggy.com may just be the
best thing so far to happen to music-lovers!

New music to listen to?

I’m not one to listen to artists very well know today. Kelly Clarkson, Lil Wayne, Pink etc.. I think most of it is total crack. (No offense to anyone who likes that kind of music.)

Anyway, my type of music consists of Imogen Heap, Greg Laswell, Death Cab For Cutie, The Postal Service, Band Of Horses, Coconut Records, Mae, The Shins, Air Traffic, Belle & Sebastian, City And Colour, Coldplay, In-Flight Safety, We Are Scientists, The Kooks, The Feeling, The Decemberists, Plushgun, Muse, Nada Surf, and MGMT. There are more but my mind is blank right now.

So if you could just give me a few names of bands or more if possible, that would be great. Please don’t list like.. a hundred bands. I just want a few that are very good.

Thank you.

Swim Wear Posters – They are a New Breed of Decorative Materials

Posters are gaining a firm foothold in the realm of decorative materials that can be used to bedeck walls of a house, office, shop, and restaurants. Posters come in different themes such as sports cars, bikes, celebrities, athletes, sports personalities, landscapes, wildlife, historic places and buildings etc. A new breed of posters has also emerged – swimwear posters.

Given that there are a large number of swimming competitions taking place worldwide, leave alone beauty contests that also have swim wear sections, the growing popularity of swim wear posters can be well understood.

Swim costumes have evolved over time in such a manner that they lend themselves to admiration. Different color combinations and design make swim wear eye-grabbing and alluring. Swimwear posters attract attention for different reasons. They make walls beautiful and lively.

Swimwear posters depict beautiful young girls and celebrities wearing swim wears that suit their bodies set against the background of an ocean, beach or wild forests. Most of the times, there are scenic backgrounds that make for great sights.

Swimwear posters can be easily purchased from websites that allow online shopping of these posters. All you have to do is to surf for such websites and book your order online. You can also customize swim wear posters as per your needs and tastes. These websites offer a variety of posters that you can glance through. You can also compare their prices and make a right choice.

New aspirants who want to take part in beauty contests or take part in swim wear competitions can take a leaf or two out of these posters. Swimwear posters can motivate them and teach them how to wear swim wears and which costume will suit them and enhance their personalities. Looking at the swim wear posters, they can also visualize how they will look in a particular swim wear.

About the Author

Patrick Arden is a professional writer, presently he is writing articles on nature posters, anti-drugs posters, playboy posters, hip hop posters, cartoon posters, architecture posters, children posters and many more.

where can I buy metric size poster frames on the internet in the US?

I bought a poster in Europe, and need a frame to fit a 70 x 100 cm poster, and cannot find anything through quick google surfing.

You’re looking for a frame that is close to 27″ by 40″. I know you said you were looking on the web but you could probably get them locally as well. Your best bet would be a hobby shop or larger craft store. They would probably have something close to that. If they don’t, you could always get the next size up and have a matt cut for it. They may even have the size matt already made.

Another option is to order a custom frame. Here’s one I found on the web but I’m sure there are a million others just like it. In fact, you probably have several where you live. Start with those same craft and hobby stores.

http://wholesaleposterframes.com/index.php

Lastly, I found a few on eBay searching for the size you needed.
