Hat/Helmet Video Camera?

I’ve been thinking of recording many of my fishing trips and wondering if anyone has any experience with some sort of head cams. The idea came upon me when I seen some kid recording himself going down a ski slope while I was snowboarding this winter and thought that would be cool while out on the water fighting a State record fish (..ok, I’m dreaming). I usually fish alone and although I’ve had some good memories over the years, I think its time for those memories to be on hardcopy.
I don’t own a digital camera anymore since cell phones are so wonderful nowadays, and I’m not using my cell phone to be attached to my head all day.
I want to get one that’s specifically made for this. It would need good battery life, decent video quality around 720p, non-bulky, water-resistance/proof.
And can you point out how to use/attach the particular device you will be referring to? Thanks.

I don’t have a lot of experience with water skiing although I love the water and style and design women’s bikinis for a profession, but I do know a little about it. This comes mainly from when my own relatives would set off to the lake for a picnic and my grandpa would take his boat and the Water Skis with him. We’d each don our own swimwear swimsuit and get ready for the experience Grandpa also would take an old gigantic inner tube which was dragged along right behind the boat for all of us boys and girls, but I’d been often afraid to attempt it.

I felt scared my swim bikini could drop off with all of those males around. I’m sure I would do it now, yet I do not know if I could get up on the skis. Given that I am a little older and women bathing suits are better designed, I would have one more try at it. Having said that, when women’s bikinis are thrashed around in the lake water many things can happen. While I have never ever tried it, we always had a fun time viewing my uncle ski behind the boat. I never considered him as a show off before I saw him on the skis. Uncle Larry has to have had water skiing experience when he was a younger man given that he still was good at it. He was up on his skis and seldom dropped. Soon after he had been water skiing for a little bit, he would start doing various stunts.

A lot of them worked and some did not. I was rather impressed with these water skiing moves even though my uncle did have a very weird sense of humor. Sometimes he would water ski with women’s bikinis he’d taken off the clothes line while they had been drying out. There’s nothing quite like having womens bathing suits soaring like flags from a man’s neck. These swimwear swimsuit stunts quickly came to stop when grandmother found out about it. My grandpa was a outstanding water skier. Grandpa would sometimes go out and about upon one ski, and as a child, this was quite remarkable to see him go like that without being knocked straight down immediately. My grandfather did take a lot more spills on one ski, but I would suppose that is to be expected.

Waterskiing is a thing that usually takes loads of practice, and is not really feasible to water ski sporting a swim bikini. Easier to slip on a neoprene swim suit as opposed to any sort of women bathing suits. Womens bikinis can look showy however when you fall hard into the water it can really hurt. As a ending to these women’s bikinis issues, just remember to use the appropriate safety equipment when waterskiing. That typically includes a basic safety life vest that’s necessary whenever somebody tumbles off of the skis. That is extremely important for kids, as most of them are not strong enough swimmers to get stranded in the middle of a lake while awaiting the boat to turn back. They should know how to paddle in the water when wearing a life vest before they attempt it at all.

How long does it take for a life jacket to pull you above water?

Well. I’m going fishing with my family tomorrow. I can swim but I’m not a great swimmer. Mom makes me wear my lifejacket when we jump off our boat for a swim. I always climb down the ladder. I ne’er jump in. I’m 5 foot 2.5 inches. I weigh 127 pounds. My life jaket is a ski vest. The water is way over my head. It is freshwater. The boat has about 1.5 feet out of the water. If I jump off the side of the boat how far will I go under the water? How long will I stay under? Do I need to kick to come back up? Remember, I would have my life jacket on.

you will not need to kick as the life jacket will do it for you. you will float to the top in seconds and it will keep you above water. you will notice in my pic im wearing a life jacket im on the right. make shure that you have it properly zipped up the front and the buckles are tightly fastened.
what helps me when im in the water with my life jacket on is when you go in put your hands on the life jacket vest neck line by the zip and you will float a lot better.

Jet Skiing For Beginners

If lying down by the beach and getting a tan is not your kind of thing, rough water sports like jet skiing may be the perfect beach activity for you. Jet skiing may seem like a difficult sport to learn. There may be a few safety precautions to keep in mind but the truth is that jet skiing is actually easy and a lot of fun. Learn the basics of jet skiing. Here is a step by step guide for beginners.

Step 1: Before anything else, it is very important that you attach the engine shut-off clip into your waist. This should be done before you start skiing. This precaution will ensure that engine is switched of automatically in case you get thrown out of the jet ski. If you don’t consider yourself a competent swimmer, make sure that your life jacket is securely fastened before starting the motor.

Step 2: Place your hands firmly on the handlebars. Start by engaging the throttle very carefully. When you’re close to the shore, maintain your space at the lowest level. This speed falls around 10 mph or less. Then as you go further, increase your speed as you wish.

Step 3: Practice the turns. The turns may be the most difficult thing to master for beginners. Practice making turns using the lowest speed. Do this until you’re comfortable enough in shifting your weight with the jet ski. Stay close to the shore until you’ve mastered making a turn.

Step 4: As you move farther from the dock, slowly take the jet ski into a higher speed. The nose should be slightly raised out of the water to create a small wake. This is where the fun starts. Be ready to get water sprayed up into your face as you ride through the waves.

Step 5: Approach waves from the front.  There are circumstances when the jet ski may be thrown in the air. To avoid accidents, lift your body off your seat at least a few inches. This will lessen the impact and keep your driving pace at a constant level.

I need help with packing! even tho i travel lots!?

okay, so i am going to a water ramps camp in Utah with some people from my ski team. here is what i need to bring.
life jacket
swimsuit and boardshorts
wetsuit
sunblock
athletic shoes
warm clothes (for after jumping cuz the pool is cold)
athletic clothes (for trampoline training)
sunglasses
pajamas
extra clothes for hanging around
extra shoes
and stuff to do on the plane
I have never gone before and i need to know about how much space this will take up. I am a 13 year old girl and i need help packing

Put everything together, put it in suitcases or bags you have laying around and measure. Mostly you can borrow a suitcase for this from a family member or friend, certainly if you do not need it for the real travel.

I think you need to start with your gear, the life jacket and wetsuit, and the warm clothes. I guess that those will mostly fill a fair size suitcase.
You can than fill the corners and other empty spots with your swimsuits, shorts, underwear and so on.

If you are restricted to one suitcase only, you may need to put the rest of your gear in a backpack and carry that on the plane. In that case you should restrict your ‘extra clothes for hanging around and extra shoes’ to the absolute minimum.
If you can check in two suitcases, make sure they both fall within the size limits, that might mean that you have to put your wetsuit in a different case than your life jacket.

The stuff to do on the plane needs to be in your hand luggage, and should not be too much. Bring an Ipod or MP3 player. A game, which can be an electronic hand held one, like a gameboy, but also a pack of cards. And a book.
And bring a diary and a camera, you may want to buy one of the waterproof one time use camera’s, so you can also use it on, in and around the water.
Put your toilet bag in your suitcase, in it you need at least soap, shampoo, tooth brush and paste and a comb. If you have long hair, put a hand full of hair ties in it too.

I think the camp will be a blast, have fun.

How can I get more than a pulled muscle faster?

Two weeks ago I ran the day after water skiing and was very painful to go skiing. I do not think I did a good job of stretching before the race and ended up taking the left thigh muscle. Why it is important that a wakeboard floats?

Floating or buoyancy is a physics term that essentially means that the density and volume of an object placed in a fluid create a situation in which the object does not sink. Neutral buoyancy occurs when the objects mass is equal to the volume of the fluid displaced. Wakeboard construction has evolved over the past several years since its introduction as a sport in the early 1980’s. The first wakeboards were essentially just downsized surfboards that were designed to float on top of moving water. These old style wakeboards were difficult to master and inhibited many athletes from attempting the sport. Late in the 1980’s, neutral buoyancy wakeboards were introduced. Neutral buoyancy boards neither floats nor sink, which made the addition of bindings or foot attachment feasible. They also made it possible for riders to easily mount the boards while in the water. This development made the sport easier for beginners and more manageable for experienced wakeboarders to perform skilled maneuvers.

The importance of floating is important in several respects. First, of all the wakeboarding is a surface water sport. As silly as it may sound, if the wakeboard sank it would be very difficult to get the board up. If the board sank, you would not be able to stand or maintain your stance on top of the water. Second, wakeboards are attached to the rider through the use of not releasing bindings. A floating or neutrally buoyant board makes it possible for the rider to easily get into position to perform maneuvers. Another aspect important for floating wakeboards is the speed in which the sport takes place. Water Skiing generally takes place at speeds of 25 to 30 miles per hour while wakeboarding takes place at speeds of 16 to 23 miles per hour. The slower speed makes it necessary for the object of the sport to float or semi-float whereas in water-skiing, the speed of the boat makes the rider rise up on top of the water. Very experienced wakeboarders sometimes operate at speeds of 23 to 25 miles per hour. Even small variations in the speed of the boat can drastically affect the shape of the wake created. In order to create the maximum wake at the slowest speed possible, special wake attachment or wake boats are available for use in the sport. As with any sport, safety is always an important factor. Wakeboards are specially engineered to ensure the protection and enjoyment of the wakeboard sport.

I’ve been waterskiing since i was about 13 (over 20 years) but only started to learn to wakeboard about 2 years ago. They are nothing like each other but it’s good that you’re used to being in the water. It took me about 40 attempts to get up the first time but my girlfriend got up on her first go! (Must have been my expert tuition after making all those mistakes!)

One tip for getting up – Pretty much as soon as the boat starts to pull turn your hips (to the right if you’re right foot forward, to the left if your left foot forward) and also push your toes down.
Once up the tendency is to try and keep the board flat which makes it very difficult to control so keep your weight on your back foot which will ensure the fins are in the water and keeping you straight. After that it’s just a matter of getting the feel for it and practise.

I’m going on a trip with my Temple Youth Grroup.We’re leaving on Friday afternoon andgoing to services then we’re going to host homes for the night. Thenext day we have a choice of either skiing, snowboarding, or going to an indoor water park. We can also have a two hour tubing session if we ski orsnowboard. Then we’re going backto the host temple and we’re having a lock in there. My questions are
What should I do on Satuday?
What should I pack?
What type of bag shouldI bring to the skiing place?

I suggest for the saturday you chose to either Ski or snowboard , becuase you can swim anytime , and a waterpark is not as fun as skiing or snowboarding.

As for clothes , bring Plenty of pairs of socks , Fleeces , Sweaters ect , and a thick coat. A skirt or nice trousers for the evening or comfy clothes for relexing in. Legwarmers are also a good option.

As for a bag , Do you mean a hnadbag/purse or a suitcase? If you mean a handbag/purse then take any that you like , but isn’t too important in case it gets lost. Take any suitcase that all of your stuff fits into.

Children of all ages can take up this sport – water skiing. But remember do not play the game before knowing the rules. That is, take care to know everything if you are a beginner.

The first timers have to go to a few places like a lake side where you would feel relaxed and at ease. This is the best places to start off.

The basics of body position, the movements and other nuances should be first learnt on land and then experimented. Once the confidence sets in you can test the waters.

Well what I do is I go out in the middle of the lake or whatever and jump in and then I have someone give me the skies. Then I like sit in the water like I’m on a chair and put them on. Then someone puts the rope into the water and then drives forward so I can grab the rope. When you get the rope make sure you put the rope between your skies and the tips of the skies are pointed up. When the boat starts to go make sure you don’t lean forward otherwise you do a face plant into the water and keep your legs bent and together or you may do the splits. Make sure you you don’t Lean forward for another reason because it really hurts you back. Only lean forward when you getting pulled out of the water and then lean back as soon as you are up but not to far. And if you you fall let go of the rope so you don’t get pulled that hurts. And if you want to stop just let go of the rope. You will keep going but not to far you will go like two feet and then just go into the water.

Picking the Gear to keep for your day on the slopes

Whatever your level of skiing experience wearing the right ski clothing is crucial to your general enjoyment. Being wet, cold, and sad will take the fun out of what could be a really fun time at the ski area. You want to stay warm and dry while being cozy at the same time. Fortunately this is easy to do if you use the correct skiing clothes and equipment.

Your Head – Let’s start at the top and work our way down. Either a good hat or helmet is a absolute. My chioce You will loose more heat through the top of your head then anyplace else on your body. This is very true when skiing or snowboarding first thing in the morning.
Protecting your eyes from the wind, blowing snow, and the intense UV rays of the sun reflecting off the snow is very important. Goggles will also make it easier to see the terrain which can translate into better overall skiing performance.

Your clothing – The Base Layer. You will need to keep your body warm and dry. This can keep any perspiration away from your body which is key to remaining warm and comfortable. Stay away form anything cotton. While cotton is very comfortable, Cotton holds any perspiration and when your skin is wet it will loose the bodies temperature 25 percent fater
Over the base layer you can add the mid layer such as a light-weight fleece top or ski vest. This is the main insulating layer so it can pay to choose it wisely.

The Outer Layer l need a ski jacket. Your ski jacket protects against the conditions ; wind, cold, snow, and water. Select one that offers the option of a zip-in liner which can further help you adjust your layering wants depending on weather and temperature conditions. For your legs you will wish to have a good set of waterproof/windproof ski pants. Under this you will want an insulating layer to stay warm. They will need to fit snuggly over your ski boots to keep the snow out but still be loose enough to offer you complete liberty of movement.

Gloves and mittens – Your gloves or mittens should be waterproof and fit loosely enough to permit good blood flow to your fingers, while at the same time you must be able to have a good grip on your ski poles.

You should not use wool hunting or hiking socks because of the bulk of these types of socks. You don’t wish to constrict the blood flow to your toes because once they get cold they are hard to warm back up. Ski socks should also be made of wicking material to keep moisture away from your skin. selecting the correct ski apparel will start you off correctly towards your enjoyment of your day on the slopes.

Jack Smatt the Legend

Port Royal’s history is intertwined with the adventures and exploits of the legendary pirate, Black Jack Smatt. This city’s history would stay incomplete and less eventful if Jack Smatt and his escapades are left out of the description. Smatt first came to Port Royal as a merchant trader to take advantage of the booming trade between Europe and the New World. As time went by, Black Jack grew restless with his conventional lifestyle and stepped into the more lucrative occupation of piracy.

In the period of early 1600s, Port Royal’s reeling populace was deep sunk in anarchy and loose morals. The population consisted of cutthroats, harlots and pirates and was the preferred haven for the British and European backed privateers. Soon pirates from different parts of the world flocked to Port Royal and Jack Smatt was on his way to make his mark in the city’s history pages. He grew and flourished as a successful pirate and made many successful looting operations at sea.

His most remembered endeavour was the plundering of a large Spanish vessel, sailing out of the Panama Coast. It was originally sent from Madrid to protect the Spanish Maine. An apparently massive ship of around 200 tonnes it was literally a floating treasure-house. Although Smatt’s coffers were already full, the allure of more was irresistible. It is said that when the pirates drew near the Spanish galleon, it signaled for surrender, but was cunningly braced for a fight. As the pirates approached, the merchant vessel fired its Cannons, only to miss the target due to an ill-fated spell cast on it. Had it hit the target, Port Royal’s history would have taken a different turn. The pirates promptly took charge of the ship and Black Smatt commandeered his crew to one of the greatest treasure hauls of his illustrious era.

The abandoning of rum rationing rules by the ruling crown made rum’s popularity shoot up among the riffraff. Smatt would binge on rum and made name as a rum drinker and notorious womaniser.Soon rum became an inevitable part of the pirate lifestyle. It became such a valuable element in  a pirate’s lifestyle that any lack of availability would lead to conflict among the pirate crew.Smatt even concocted a blend, the jewel of Jamaican Rum; and it was rumoured that anyone who was lucky enough to lay his hands on this original blend would inherit the much-famed Smatt Fortune. This era between 1650 and 1740 was coined as the Golden Age of pirates.

In 1692, a ferocious earthquake razed Port Royal. Along with that, Smatt and many other inhabitants vanished from the city of Port Royal. Nowadays, it is Jack’s descendants who rule the maritime industry in the Caribbean waters. The man at the helm is Ernie Smatt, a former water-ski champion. He holds Jack Smatt’s mantle now and manages the business from his Cutlass Bay hotel.
